Bacterial Cellulose-Based Nanocomposites Containing Ceria and Their Use in the Process of Stem Cell Proliferation

A technique for the fabrication of bacterial cellulose-based films with CeO2 nanofiller has been developed. The structural and morphological characteristics materials have studied, their thermal mechanical properties in dry swollen states having determined. preparation methodology makes it possible to obtain composites a uniform distribution nanoparticles. catalytic effect ceria, regarding oxidative destruction cellulose, confirmed by TGA DTA methods. An increase content led an elastic modulus (a 1.27-fold caused introduction 5 wt.% into polymer) strength films. This is explained formation additional links between polymer macro-chains via nanoparticles’ surface. fabricated were characterized limited ability swell water. Swelling 20- 30-fold reduction stiffness material, state remaining germane practical use. application composite cell engineering as substrates stem cells’ proliferation studied. enhanced proliferative activity embryonic mouse cells. cells cultured on scaffold containing ceria demonstrated increased survival migration activity. analysis gene expression improved cultivation conditions CeO2-containing scaffolds.
